Laika Wintemute was previously based in Montreal Quebec, Canada and now calls Kelowna home. Originally from Prince George in Northern British Columbia, she started dancing at 3 years old.

At 14 she left home to train in Vancouver with Tania Brossoit and Stephana Arnold. While in Vancouver, she completed all of her ISTD ballet and modern exams, as well as RAD exams, including Solo Seal. Laika has been very fortunate to train in Madrid at the Art Of summer intensive and in Copenhagen with the Royal Danish Ballet.

Some of Laika’s favourite memories include competing at the Youth American Grand Prix and other international competitions, as well as performing at numerous events. Following this Laika moved to Montreal to study at L’école Supérieure du Ballet where she graduated with a diploma in Classical Dance.

From 2019 to 2024, Laika danced with both Les Grands Ballets and Ballet Ouest de Montreal. Laika is thrilled to be one of the first dancers with Okanagan ballet theatre.
